The Board of Regents have provided funds for the Regents' Scholarships, offered to residents of Nebraska that are
graduating seniors of Nebraska high schools. Applicants that have a minimum ACT composite of 30, AND either rank in the
top 25% of their graduating class or have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher will qualify for the award.
The Regent's scholarship provides for the payment of resident tuition and is renewable each year upon maintenance of a
cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. The award is renewable for up to five total years or until 135 credit hours (not including
hours earned through dual enrollment or AP classes) or a bachelor's degree is earned.
To apply, submit the Application for Admission to UNO by February 1 of the senior year. We will accept official ACT/SAT scores
through the December test date of the senior year.
The University annually awards five Distinguished Scholarships. These scholarships have a total value over a four-year
period of $25,000 to $27,000. All five are awarded through the UNO Distinguished Scholarship Competition. Academically
talented high school seniors are invited to campus each spring to compete by examination for these top awards. Incoming
freshmen must apply for admission by February 1 of their senior year to be considered.
The Chancellor's Scholarship ($2,200/academic year) is awarded to residents of Nebraska that are graduating seniors of
Nebraska high schools. Applicants must have a minimum ACT score (or SAT equivalent) of 28-29 AND either rank in the top
25% of their class or have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The scholarship is renewable for 3 additional years if the
student maintains full-time enrollment and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. This award cannot be stacked with
other scholarships that together would equal or exceed tuition and fees.

through the December test date of the senior year.
The Deans Scholarship ($1,000/academic year) is awarded to residents of Nebraska that are graduating seniors of Nebraska
high schools. Applicants must have a minimum ACT score (or SAT equivalent) of 26-27 AND either rank in the top 25% of
their class or have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The scholarship is renewable for 3 additional years if the student
maintains full-time enrollment and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
To apply, submit the Application for Admission to UNO by February 1 of the senior year. We will accept official ACT/SAT scores
through the December test date of the senior year.
The UNO Alumni Association Scholarship awards four $2,500/year scholarships to graduating high school seniors that have demonstrated
leadership and involvement during high school. The scholarship may be renewed for up to four years total if a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is maintained. To be considered,
applicants must complete the UNO Scholarship Application (available in
mavlink)
including the essay question and meet the following criteria:
- be a graduating high school senior
- have a minimum ACT composite score of 24
- either rank in the top 25% of your class or have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
The Nebraska Legacy Scholarship provides the differential between
in-state and out-of-state tuition to incoming freshmen that are
children of University of Nebraska graduates. Students eligible for
review must rank in the upper one-third of their graduating class
or have a minimum ACT composite of 24 or higher(or equivalent on the SAT).
The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information on how to apply.
A scholarship fund has been established in memory of long-time University of Nebraska at Omaha employee William Gerbracht. Upon his
death in June 1991, Gerbracht bequeathed a portion of his estate to establish an academic scholarship fund at UNO. The scholarship
is awarded to an incoming freshman that is the child of a full-time UNO faculty or staff member. The full tuition scholarship is awarded on
academic promise, and is renewable if the student maintains an acceptable GPA. To apply, file the UNO scholarship application by March 1
of the student's senior year and submit a letter from the faculty/staff member verifying that the applicant is their child.
The University of Nebraska Omaha offers scholarships for an amount up
to the difference between resident and non-resident tuition to selected
new undergraduate students who are not residents of Nebraska.
For consideration, a high school student should apply for admission by February 1 of their senior year.
Through a tuition initiative called the
Metropolitan Advantage Program (MAP), residents of Pottawattamie, Mills and Harrison Counties of Iowa
will be eligible to attend undergraduate and graduate programs at UNO for 150 percent of resident tuition. UNO also will offer Iowa undergraduate
students in this three-county area an opportunity to reduce tuition even further through the
Maverick Advantage Scholarship (MAS).
To qualify for the
Maverick Advantage Scholarship, incoming undergraduate students from the three designated counties in Iowa must present a 23 or
higher ACT composite score or rank in the top 25 percent of their high school classes. Transfer students must present a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
The
Maverick Advantage Scholarship will cover the difference between the resident tuition rate and the MAP rate of 150% of resident tuition. Eligible applicants will be considered based on teh application for admission.
This scholarship
is awarded to incoming freshmen who are graduates of Nebraska high schools
and have financial need. The scholarship covers full tuition for students
that enroll in and maintain 15 credit hours each semester. This scholarship
may be renewed for an additional three years if the recipient continues
to meet the requirements of the scholarship. Applicants are considered for
this award by applying for admission and filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) form.
This program funds
scholarships for students with financial need. Recipients must never
have defaulted on a student loan or currently owe a repayment on a grant.
Special consideration is given to students who experience obstacles
to higher education. Applicants are considered for
this award by applying for admission and filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) form.
The Faculty Senate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha has sponsored
scholarships for meritorious students since 1970 when Paul L. Beck, a
long-time member of the History Department, urged faculty and staff
to go beyond the classroom to assist capable students in their
educational pursuits at UNO. Undergraduate and graduate students are
invited to
apply for the Paul L. Beck Memorial Faculty/Staff Scholarship.
Approximately
40 University Honors Scholarships are awarded by individual colleges
to sophomore, junior and senior students enrolled at UNO. These non-renewable
scholarships are awarded by the colleges based on academic achievement,
and provide for the remission of resident tuition charges. Eligible recipients
are nominated by their college based on academic performance.
A variety of scholarship opportunities, including the prestigious
Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship, are available for students attending
UNL's College of Engineering and Technology (Omaha Campus
programs) and UNO's College of Information Science and Technology located
in The Peter Kiewit Institute.

The overall
intent of the
Goodrich
Scholarship program is to provide a college education for persons
who otherwise could not afford it while offering them a broad and meaningful
experience in general education. The program has a three-pronged approach.
It provides:
- financial aid
in the form of tuition and fees toward a bachelor's degree
- a specialized
curriculum emphasizing the humanities and the social sciences
- a comprehensive program of academic support, counseling and other related
student services.
Applications are
available through the
Goodrich
Program Office and are due by March 1st.
Creighton University is one of 272 schools nationwide that sponsors a Military Science Program on a college campus. This program has a partnership agreement with UNO which allows UNO students to get their degree through UNO and participate in this program and the benefits it has to offer. Students can complete their degrees while training to become Army Officers in the United States Army. All majors and all levels (Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors) are welcome to apply. We offer 2, 3, and 4 year full ride scholarships that pay full tuition, a monthly stipend that totals to approximately $4500/year and a book stipend of $1200/yr. When you graduate with your degree, you are guaranteed a full time job at a starting salary of about $43,000/year. Within 4 years you are making approximately $75,000/yr. Additionally, there are fully funded graduate opportunities available after a student graduates (medical school, physical therapy, law school, and many more)

Nebraska University Pre-Admission to the Health Sciences (NU-PATHS) is a collaborative program developed
between the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, University of Nebraska at Kearney, University of Nebraska at
Omaha, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The NU-PATHS program assists selected students in their undergraduate pre-health curricula
at one of the NU undergraduate campuses and guarantees admission to the selected UNMC
program upon successful and timely completion of their undergraduate pre-professional program of study.
The purpose of NU-PATHS is to recruit and educate academically talented students who demonstrate, through life
experiences and personal motivation, a desire to become health care professionals who are willing to serve
persons in need of health care in medically underserved communities. It is anticipated that program graduates will
practice in medically underserved urban communities.

The Phillip
Schrager Scholarship Program for Student Leaders recognizes students
who possess outstanding leadership capability. Selection is based primarily
on a student's involvement in high school activities and organizations;
scholastic achievement is also a qualification. These two-year awards
are given annually to freshman students who are expected to become involved
in leadership roles on campus and to enroll in a "Leadership and
Administration" class. The scholarship is valued at $2,500 per
year. Preference is given to students from the Omaha
area. Applications are available from the high school guidance counselors.
The R.H. "Rick" Davis
Scholarship recognizes the most academically talented African-American,
Native-American, and Latino-American students. Each award, a minimum of
$2,000 annually, is based on institutional cost minus parent contribution
and any other scholarships or grants. Deadline to apply is January 15th.
Each scholarship is renewable for up to three years based on continued
academic success. Please contact the

This program
encourages talented ethnic/minority students who are permanent residents
of Omaha by awarding scholarships worth $1,000 each. To qualify for
consideration, students must have earned a cumulative 3.0 "B"
GPA in high school, at UNO, or at the college from which they are transferring.
